About the event
UPDATE: We are excited to have our first group gathering, the Shavuot Potluck picnic tomorrow.
The plan is to still meet at 12:00 by the picnic tables at the Circumvalação entrance, weather permitting.
However, should the weather turn on us, Jeff Rosenberg & Glenn Tasky have graciously offered up their home to host Shavuot on their deck.
Their address is: Rua do Oro 108, 4150-138 Porto *Apt. 5.4
Please keep in touch with us through this app, or by WhatsApp to get the latest news. We will be at the park early reserving tables and monitoring the weather. T

Original Message:
Shavuot celebrates the moment of ‘receiving Torah’ at Mt. Sinai and the Israelites continuing their journey through the desert with newfound laws.
Please join us at Parque Cidade by the Water Pavillion (our Mt. Sinai) for food, drinks, dancing and fun.
It is customary to eat a dairy meal on Shavuot. It comes from this reference in the Torah in the book of Exodus. “We eat dairy to symbolize the land flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8)
Therefore we are hoping that people will bring or make: (see Discussion tab to sign up)
- Bagels and cream cheese (2 people)
- Lox with capers & onions (2 people)
- Cheesecake
- Blintze Soufflé
- Natas or Cheese pastries
- Noodle kugel
- Salad (2 people)
- Sandwiches: egg salad, tuna salad, cucumber & cream cheese. (2 people)
- Water/Wine/Sodas (4 people)
- Plates, napkins, cups
- forks, knives, spoons
Please RSVP. Then go to the DISCUSSION tab in the app and state what food you will be bringing. Food will be coordinated by Heidi and Linda.
Enter the park from Circumvalaçao (by the “Rugby” entrance.) There is a big, open parking lot once inside and the tables are right there next to the Water Pavillion building.
Looking forward to seeing everyone,
Linda, Heidi, Sharon and Carol
